The L. H. Brown Research Collection at the W. Dallas Herring Local History and Genealogy Center comes in 3 parts:

Leslie H. Brown (1928-1989) was born and raised in Warsaw, NC. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His career took him to states both north and south of his home state. He enjoyed researching the origins and migrations of many families from Duplin and other counties in southeast North Carolina.
In his retirement, Mr. Brown returned to Warsaw and spent many hours visiting Dallas Herring around the fireplace. He compiled over 36,000 index cards, 330 vertical files, and nearly 100 collected notebooks from his genealogical research. After Mr. Brown's death, Dallas Herring and friends rescued these materials to preserve in his library.
The L. H. Brown Card Collection is stored in a cabinet especially designed and built for them. The cards, vertical files, and notebooks are currently available for genealogy and local history research at the W. Dallas Herring Carolina Heritage Research Center at 108 South Cowan Street, Burgaw NC.
